Captive Under The Sea

by Robert

Going forward, Going back
Lost in one of my many flashbacks,
for in the blink of a second I was taken back,
to a moment of time where I was out of whack.

Restrained in a room with nothing but unmoving walls,
where days and time would mean nothing at all.
My course log was long, and I hadnt seen much,
but the food I was given had a certain touch.

Prepared with only the creatures of the deep,
I never got the meat I craved to eat.
I thought long and hard on how to prolong,
the creeping sense of death that was coming along.

At the moment when the air was thin I had long lost hope,
my lungs felt weighted down and I felt at the end of my ropes.
A light would appear with a stretched out hand,
bringing me into the light that seemed to expand.

I found myself awake in the arms of a maiden,
who had held me tight as if one of her children.
As you go forward, you always go back,
to remember the time your life was set back on track.
