Sitting in isolation, neck bent over as is there were specially mounted hinges that keep me from lifting head high enough to see hope.
Facing the world on my own, I sit cuddling my knees with a warm enough embrace to convince my mind that it will be all ok. See I live in a generation where being Christian is something you do every Sunday...
And God is only a name you call for when in distress. A generation where religion is just a set of rules and breaking them is ok just as long as you don't get caught, because that could seriously hurt your facade.
A generation where this empty cup of knowledge is something we don't want to fill ourselves and "you only live once" means kill yourself.
See we try to console our spirits with phrases like "only God judge me","well your not perfect yourself","you don't know what I've been through"?
See what we have been through in the past cannot be held accountable for what we put ourselves through now. But unfortunately I live in a generation where the way out is a bottle of Ciroc, I mean there's nothing better than waking up in a toilet with a headache, memory loss and a kicking baby right?
Thing is that's not enough for my generation!
Our body is Gods temple and what better way to honor it than rolling up a joint, smoking our lungs black?
I wish you could get high enough so that God could reach out and slap you right across the face, just so that you can open your eyes and realize what you are doing.
God created us to serve him but instead we do everything he stands against. Our generation seems to forget that there is life after death, we forget that God sent his one and only son to die for people who hate him.
See I wish I could do something about it But now i'm Sitting in isolation, neck bent over as if there were specially mounted hinges that keep me from lifting head high enough to see hope.
Looking out the window, its raining and I think to myself..... "you know if I was God I'd be crying too".
